What We Do

The Center for Reproductive Psychology provides education, psychological counseling, and supportive services to individuals and couples struggling with infertility, miscarriage and stillbirth, premature birth, surrogacy and donor technology, multiple and complicated births, adoption, postpartum adjustment, abortion, hysterectomy and menopause.

We serve as a resource and educational center conducting clinical research, with doctoral students researching the many psychological aspects of reproductive issues for both men and women. Research at the Center is leading to a deeper understanding of the psychological impact of infertility and other reproductive crises. It is our goal to understand the depth and range of these life-altering experiences and impart this knowledge to both professionals and the general public.

We lecture nationally and internationally at hospitals, doctors’ offices, and professional conferences to increase the sensitivity of the medical community to the depth of the trauma that infertility patients experience. We speak to nurses, midwives and book clubs; we talk to whoever will listen about the importance of undertsanding the meaning of this experience, for individuals, couples and extended family.
